JAIPUR

Banglore   Ranikhet   Hemkund

The famous pink city. Also famous for its numerous forts and castles. Very dry weather. The true spirit of rajputs and Rajasthan in whole can be felt here in Jaipur. It’s a very vibrant city full of life and pulsating energy. The colourful turbans of the male folk and the iridescent lehengas and cholis of the women folk are absolutely eye catching. Best time to visit Jaipur is from October to March. The Nargarh Palace, the Hawa Mahal, the Amer Fort, Rambagh Palace, Jal Mahal, Chaupad and Chauda Raasta marketplace are few of the areas, which one has to go to at any cost. People of Jaipur are extremely well mannered and full of valour and chivalrous. Chokhi Dhani is a village restaurant which is an experience in itself.

Revisited Jaipur last month and it was great to be back there. The feeling of belonging here had never faded away, much to my surprise. But the market situation was bad and all the industries are affected due to the dwindling tourism. Felt bad for the people who were totally reliant on the tourism industry. Though the youngsters were all techno and gadget savvy and into SMS, the old world charm still remains deeprooted. Johari Bazaar still lived upto its reputation and we got great bargains on fabrics. Stayed in a five star hotel, The Jaipur Palace, and enjoyed every bit of it. The service was excellent and the cuisine was sumptuous. The food at the famous Taj Hotel, The Rambagh Palace, did not taste upto the expectation.
